A portrait of Gerardo Marotta, president of the Italian Institute of Philosophical Studies, through the account of the most important phases of his life and the origins of his thought. His history, relations with the city, philosophy, humanism and then the ‘southern Enlightenment, the Jacobin republic of 1799, Benedetto Croce, the battles of today against «a vulgar political praxis», to shake «a resigned people». And with Marotta parade some of the companions of adventure: Edgar Morin, Marc Fumaroli and, in a video when he turned hundred, Hans Georg Gadamer. Film recognized of cultural interest by MIBACT.
