ANTONIO TOSCANO

Born in Catania in 1987, he graduated from the university of his hometown with a thesis on “Orson Welles’s Don Quixote”, and soon after attended the editing course at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Although he devoted several years to creating stop-motion videos with Lego bricks, he still found the time to work as an editor on “Sicily Folk Doc”, a documentary project about Sicilian folk festivals, which produced three short films and a feature-length film, “I Misteri”. With the same team, he also edited the documentary film “Pietra Madre”, winner of the Audience Award at the 2024 Taormina Film Festival.

For eight years, he worked as a selector and projectionist for the short film festival “Magma – Mostra di cinema breve”, and in 2014 he served as a juror for the “Glasgow Short Film Festival”.
